Switchfoot Concert Review
Nothing is Sound
10.25.05
Tuesday night Switchfoot returned to Denver on their “Nothing is Sound” tour. Despite the band's growing popularity among Christian and pop-culture radio stations, they opted to perform at the Ogden Theater. This made for an intimate evening with the San Diego-based band and their fans. Tickets were sold out well before the night of the concert. The opening band was a group called Reeve Oliver, a band also from San Diego. The second band to perform was a family from Texas called Eisley. Both bands were decent but the crowd had been patiently waiting for John Foreman and Switchfoot to take the stage.
When the band first stepped out onto the stage they were greeted with cheers and applause. They performed a good mix of songs from their newest album, “Nothing is Sound”, and from their previous album, “Beautiful Letdown”. John did an excellent job of interacting with the audience and they responded by singing along on every song. Long-time fans were treated to performances of Company Car and Chem 6A. In the end, Switchfoot proved that they could rock the house with Stars, Ammunition, and Lonely Nation as well as move us with The Shadow Proves the Sunshine and We Are One. It was a very worshipful experience.
Definitely a band worth seeing perform live. You won’t be disappointed. You can check out their web site at www.switchfoot.com. They have a tour journal, forums, and pictures posted from fans. It’s worth checking out.
